EGOTISTICAL FAITH

“The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” (Ps. 24:1)

I was given a stern message when I was ordained: “You didn’t get here by yourself.” And to this day I have never forgotten this. However in these past few years, I have watched prominent pastors of mega churches, professional athletes from all sports, and people who have reached the pinnacle of the White House, the highest courts in the land, and those holding legislative and senate seats grapple with egotistical faith. These selfish acts have hurt our neighbors and the governing body of this land. We have forgotten the real creator of our success. We have forgotten that God is the architect of the universe and the engineer of eternal life. He is the wisdom behind the world.

The soft pinkish-blue sunset—He designed. The brilliant, bold sunrise cascading over the treetops—He designed. The pure snow-capped mountains projecting toward heaven in reverence—He designed. The luscious green and gorgeous vegetation—He designed. Most fascinating is the intricately designed makeup of water and flesh called the human body—He designed it all.

The whole universe, both land and water, and the circumambient air, and all that is therein: the fishes of the sea, the fowls of the air, the beasts of the field, all plants and vegetables that spring from the earth, and the metals and minerals in the bowels of it—all are the riches of the Lord. The money we make belongs to God first, and using it for corruptible behavior will bring you down in one way or another. He is the intelligent designer of earth and all humanity. And...It takes more arrogance than faith to believe otherwise.
